Beltrami 50g, Zevio, Verona, Italy Abstract This study presents a parametrical analysis of primary energy consumption for heating, cooling and lighting in relation to some elements of the built environment such as: the thermophysical and geometrical properties of windows and walls, the climate, the building layout, the area and shape of rooms, and facade orientations. The trend of energy consumption, per unit of volume as a function the ratio of window to floor area, shows that an optimal point exists for each climate and orientation considered. The reported data have been achieved by simulating several room configurations with a previously validated model: HEATLUX.
