Abstract
With the increasing utilization of CAD systems in the design of buildings, a demand arises for the integration of electrical and lighting design modules into these CAD systems, instead of processing them in separate programs.
For the lighting design it is necessary to pass the data from a CAD drawing needed for the calculation, such as room dimensions, luminaire positions, etc. to the calculation module, and to pass the calculation results back to the CAD system to have an immediate presentation of the results in the CAD building model.
A design tool is being introduced, which enables the integration of lighting design into the overall CAD project design, as well as a complete electrical dimensioning of a building. This software shows a new direction on environment fully integrated to a CAD software, providing help to electrical and lighting engineers. It includes all technical aspects such as accordance to codes and standards, luminous library, and electrical aspects.
