As a result of the improvement
of HF dimmable ballasts for fluorescent lighting; Dale Tiller
(292) and P. Marx (483), a new generation of daylight responsive
lighting control systems has come to the market. These new systems
can, if applied properly, yield considerable energy savings.
The improvement of lamps also continues; J. de Groot et al. (456), P. v.d Burgt et al. (486). New apllications of energy efficient lamps were demonstrated during the 23rd sesssion of the CIE in New Delhi; E. Tetri & L. Halonen (283).
Furthermore, there were reports on new techniques for the design of efficient luminaires; Ryuchi Kaida et al. (256, 285, 260),
