3-way table lamp A common complaint about residential CFLs is that they are not dimmable. To address the need for adjustable light output, the US manufacturer Mitor has introduced a "3-way" table luminaire equipped with three individually controlled compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) operated by one electronic ballast. The luminaire is equipped with three dual-tube, 13-W compact fluorescent lamps, each with an output of 900 lumens (50W incandescent equivalent). Total lumen output is thus 2 700 lumens (150-watt incandescent equivalent). The total power consumption of one lamp plus the ballast is 15W (i.e., with all three lamps switched on, the total power consumption will be 45 watts). The lamps can be replaced individually. A "tamper-proof" version of the luminaire, with a lamp-lock feature, is also available. It is designed primarily for use in public areas where the risk of theft is high. Lamps are rated to last for 10 000 hours, whereas the ballast is rated to last for appr. 50 000 hours. The power factor of the ballast is very high, 0.98, and the total harmonic distortion (THD) is less than 20%. For more information, contact: Mitor Industries. Fax: +1 507 387 7491 |
