Customer contacts In Sweden, many electric utilities are setting up centers for their customers. In late autumn 1990, one of Sweden´s largest utilities, Stockholm Energi, opened a center in the middle of Stockholm. Here, the utility´s customers can pay their bills, ask questions regarding their energy consumption, borrow energy meters, etc. Says Ms Ingela Netz at the center: "Many of our customers come here because they have questions regarding their bills. Their visits provide a great opportunity for us to give advice on energy efficiency." In 1992 the number of visistors had grown to 48 000, and more than 3 000 CFLs were sold. Prices of CFLs are not as low as in some of the large department stores. "On the other hand, we have a very broad product range." says Ms. Netz. Recently, the center moved to a location on a major shopping street. "At our new premises, we hope to attract shoppers that just happen to pass by", she says. |
