Hollow-light-guide committee
Interest in hollow light guides is growing. Attendance at the second meeting of the CIE technical committee TC 3.30, held in March, was about double that registered at the first meeting, and the committee now reports that more than 15 firms worldwide are developing hollow-light-guide systems.
Since hollow light guides represent a relatively new technology, the work has started from scratch. The committee is now putting much of its work into developing the necessary technical terminology, defining evaluation and measurement methods, and coming up with recommendations for efficiently installing these systems. A bibliography containing articles on projects from several countries is also being developed.
