Participant Support Programs



EPA provides a wide range of Green Light participant support programs.
  • Lighting Services Group: Extensive technical support is provided through a technical information hotline, a comprehensive Lighting Upgrade Manual and training workshops.
  • Software Analysis Tools: State-of-the-art computer software helps participants survey facilities and select lighting upgrade options that maximize energy savings and meet profitability goals.
  • The National Lighting Product Information Program: Independent test data on the performance and application of energy-efficient lighting products are
  • Ally Program: Members of the lighting and electric-utility industries are brought together to encourage customers to use energy-efficient lighting technologies.
  • Manuals and Publications: All aspects of lighting technology and the lighting upgrade process are covered.
  • Public Recognition: Participants receive public recognition for their environmental leadership through EPA-generated news articles, media events and public service advertisements. EPA encourages participants to promote their own Green Lights activities by distributing ready-to-use promotional materials.
  • Internet Community: A list server has recently been launched as a forum for issues concerning the Green Lights program. The current focus is a dialogue involving partners, surveyor allies, endorsers and lighting/ power industries regarding successes and challenges.
