12 V IRC lamp for open luminaires
Osram's Halostar IRC (see Photo) lamp is a 12V pin-base lamp based on the 12V Decostar IRC reflector lamp (see IAEEL 2/97). Like the IRC reflector lamps, this pin-base IRC lamp is significantly more energy-efficient than conventional low-voltage halogen lamps. The new lamp is a low-pressure lamp, thus it is approved for use in open luminaires as defined by IEC 60598. A standard 50W low voltage halogen lamp can be replaced by a 35W IRC lamp at equivalent light output.
