Arturo CovittiProposal for the Choose of a Light source for Painting Lighting Dipartimento di Elettrotecnica ed Elettronica, Politecnico di Bari, Italy Summary On the basis of previous works, the author proposes a selection parametric method which consents the choice of the light source more suitable for a determined painting. This selection method leads the above-mentioned choice taking into account the chromaticity of the painting, which is analysed in each point. By opportune elaborations, it is possible to identify the colour temperature and the chromatic contents of the source more suitable. This work has been carried out by experimental tests which confirm the paper assumptions. It leads to conclude that it is not convenient often to proceed by the traditional Kruithof approach.
