Xidadekas Philips Lighting EAEBE, Greece Abstract This paper presents the results of a road night experiment performed outside Athens in Mid-January 1993. The purpose of the experiment was to investigate the way that obstacles on the surface of the road can be perceived by drivers under various conditions of road lighting and contrast.
