Abstract

The renovation of lighting systems at working stations modifies not only visual tasks but also the visual environment and the human behaviour. The availability of lamps with higher efficacies and lower consumption makes possible lighting installations which save energy. This paper informs about results obtained from field studies performed at sections of a track factory and a bank in Tucumán, Argentina. The conclusions of the two case studies suggest that refurbishment strategies based on a diagnostic of a sample lighting situation involving photometric and user's opinion surveys before and after the renovation allows a more effective design and control of the lighting modifications.
