Waldmann Lichttechnik, Schweninningen, Germany Introduction More and more display terminals were used in offices at the beginning of the eighties. Until that time the mostly used prismatic luminaires with a more or less wider luminous distribution curve made in fact light and generally illuminated rooms, but the luminance of the luminaires was so high, that reflected images of the luminaires were shown on the screens. Because of this fact reading was impossible. Therefore a lighting system was looked for, which illuminates the room more or less without glare and with which the room appears pleasantly light. The shown solution attains this by an indirect ambient lighting, which generates a diffuse lighting in the room.(...)
