There is an resurgence of interest in this field generated by issues such as visual comfort, energy efficiency and computer simulation. New research of daylighting in architecture, as well as the collection and evaluation of existing knowledge, is introduced in this paper. The collation of this information into one document by a team of European experts provides the design team and building researchers with a state-of-the-art assessment. The resultant book is entitled "Daylighting in Architecture: A European Reference Book".
