Abstract

Government regulation of lighting efficiency has generated considerable interest worldwide as a policy approach to promote energy savings. The United States has enacted various lighting efficiency regulations at both the federal and state levels. These regulations may serve as possible models for other countries' development of lighting policies. This paper provides a summary of lighting efficiency regulations in the U.S. through mid-1993.
